Well, I never thought I would be in this position at 29 years old. When I was younger, I dreamed of being a successful doctor and married with two children by 27. During this journey called life, I have learned that there are ups and downs and nothing ever goes according to plan. Currently, I am still in an entry level position at a Fortune 500 company, I don’t make a lot of money, and I’m not married. However, I have accomplished a few things, I moved to South Korea when I was 23 and taught ESL for a year. Also, during this past year, I taught at a career college where I was able to utilize my master’s degree and pay off debt. I probably put too much pressure on myself, because I’ve done a lot in such a short time.
I choose to focus on the negativity, the fact that my goals haven’t come to pass, like I thought they would, but I choose to be positive and focus on the positive. I am happy, healthy, and whole. I have earned respect in the workplace despite my job position. I am certainly blessed, and my luck will come. Perhaps, I am on this journey as preparation for what is to come for me. Maybe, my character needs to be replenished so that once I receive the dream career, I will remain humble.
Until then, I am living my best life, choosing joy, peace, and happiness in spite of the rain.
” In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18
